Looks like Starlink may be getting more affordable vs having to pay $150/mo for standard roam service. Got this email:

Try the new Roam 10GB plan for $10/mo and use Starlink for backup connectivity or weekend travel. 10GB of Roam data is included (approximately one day of typical use) and if needed, you can buy additional data by the GB in your account.

Get online with no downtime in case of emergencies. You can use Roam on the go, with countrywide coverage, in-motion use, international travel, and coastal coverage.

Reactivate service on the Roam 10GB plan by following the steps below:

1. Log in to your account at starlink.com
2. Go to "Subscriptions" and select your service line
3. Select "Activate Service" and choose the service plan

I think the going rate is now $165/month!

We’ve been using T-Mobile Home Internet for the past year. This past summer I only activated for Starlink for a few partial months when we had no cell service and I really wanted to get online. I’m thinking this new plan may work better for us when we’re traveling and hit those dead zones.

We are doing the same as above…TMobile home normally and Starlink roam as a backup when needed.

TMobile home even works while driving as we leave it plugged in and have internet while going down the road.

I have the Starlink Mini. The monthly cost is $50 per month for 50 GB. You can buy more at $10 per 10 GB. Yes, you can turn on and off your subscription at any time. You can also travel with it internationally. I use it to augment my Cell service.

How much streaming can you do with 50 GB?

It would depend on your settings such as 4K will use a lot more data. If your streaming platform offers settings to set the quality such as 720p, 1080p, 4K, try dialing it down. Most "TV's" you won't notice any difference between 1080p and 4k.

Just put your streaming on a diet and one way to save bandwidth is turning off Wi-Fi on cellular devices so those devices use cellular and not Starlink. Often cellular will be faster anyways if you have 5G service.

What Neal said ^^^^
In addition, it will depend on the streaming service as they can use different levels of data packing/compression.
The general rule of thumb to make things easy for me (where we use Standard Defintion while in the coach) 1 GB per hour of streaming.
For more details I did a quick search and there are articles such as this that give more details:

To be honest I don't know. I mainly have been using it to upload videos to my Rumble channel and my PeerTube channel. It eats that up fast so now I upload at the end of my service month. I am about 2/3 of the way through my service month and it shows I have used 23GB. I will use that for uploads shortly. So I have used 23GB for streaming and surfing for about almost 3 weeks. When I have good cell signal I use that for everything but uploading. I get throttled a lot on videos when I use cell but it still works ok. The best thing about Starlink is the service has been available everywhere so far. I limit myself to the $50 as I am not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. 🤣
