Do you need a sway bar or weight distribution bar for this rig?
With it weighing what it does, I wanted a load-leveler hitch for ours. Just picked it up today with an ReCurve (Eaz-Lift 400#) hitch installed. Perfectly satisfied with the ride on our way home.

A MAJOR problem is the stupid ladder. It's bolted into the 7/8 OSB and that is all. It flexes the pathetic insulation around the door and water gets in and rots the floor. Ask me how I know (hint: I just repaired mine.)

I am going to weld some kind of ladder holder onto the back and reinforce the floor with steal and use pins to drop in and hold it in place while being used and removable to put back in the holder on the bumper.

Is your ladder on the back of your camper, or the side? Ours has no ladder, but it does have a ladder mount on the side to accept one. I just purchased a 14’ extendable ladder from Harbor Freight, to give me access to the top if/when needed. It collapses down small enough, that we just leave it in the pass-thru under our bed.

My husband and I pick up our Sun Lite 16BH this weekend. We are excited to use it! There are so many features. Our version has both awnings, the overhead bunk/storage area, single basin sink, 3 burner cooktop with oven, Wineguard HDTV antennae, plus the off-road/tow package. So many amenities are included with the Sun Lite 16BH including solar and backup camera prep, outside shower, inside and outside speakers, sturdy entrance step (important for our older dog), TV prep, microwave, separate (and good sized!) fridge and freezer, and so much more! Sorry if I'm gushing. Like I said, we are excited. Hope this info helps.
Hello, Im looking at a 2022, how has your rv treated you?

Me and my wife bought a Sunlite 18rd sport Sept 7th 2021. We have camped in 5 times since then. It is exactly the same as the 16 but the bed is turned lengthwise and is easier to get into. Trailer seems pretty well built, we have taking this on off-road trails including Cordova pass elevation 11, 200 feet. The only issue we have had has been replacing a few fuses. The sport version has better tires and is lifted which we love. Air conditioning and heat is fantastic. Refrigerator is large and awesome.

It's been a few years, I'm wondering how things have been for you with this unit. I'm undecided between the 16bh and the 18rd. Will be towing with a 2022 4 door Bronco. So I'm curious what you're towing with, do you use a distribution hitch and basically your top 3 pros and cons.

I will toss my thoughts in since no one asked me.......

I have noticed lots of smaller units in the camp grounds, seems to be a trend.
We started with a tent trailer years ago, it worked for many years with the kids, and then went without one for a spell, as they wanted to do their own thing, like get married and stuff.

As our working years were winding down and free time was just around the corner, we let our emotions get the better of us and just went looking for kicks, and ended up getting kicked pretty darn good.

I already had a big truck to pull my boat, and we did use the trailer a lot, but it was more than we needed, as we found out we liked state parks more than asphalt parking lots, so its size limited us to where we could go, AND, its build was iffy.
Oh she was pretty, like a condo on wheels and I could park it in paradise and not have to pay for a time share...... or so the thinking went.

Ended up ditching it, and didn't take too big of a hit, and bought something that fit us, and we haven't looked back.

I think that is the MOST important thing folks need to figure out, what are their real need, and how do you plan to use it.
I think too many people get trapped in wanting to impress others as they walk the campground and go....WOW, look at that big one...... thinking its a compliment when in reality they are thinking something else...... Maybe its a guy thing, but I'm pretty sure the women knew it would be our Achilles heel and never let a good tool go to rust.

I do see, and looked ourselves, at the Casitas trailer, extremely well built and hold their value, but just too small for us.
But with that said, we spend as much time outdoors, until the last moment before bed, same with the mornings, coffee outside and the great outdoors as my walls and ceiling.....priceless.

If you can get by with one vehicle and still get outdoors, that leaves more money to spend GOING instead of sitting in some storage lot waiting until, well........ unloved.

Welcome to this friendly site, great folk, no attitude, no dumb questions, just folk who love being and sharing the beautiful world we live in with others.....
