I have a 2023 Coachmen Galleria Li3. This class B motorhome uses a lithium ion house battery that is charged using a Xantrex charger/inverter. I have thought about purchasing a surge protector, but I have concerns regarding how it will operate with the lithium ion battery and all the circuitry of the Xantrex unit. Does anyone else use a surge protector this type of setup, and if so, have you experienced any problems? Thank you for your respnses.

If you are referring to a shore power surge protector, it should have NO problems with anything downstream. A general surge protector just sits there and waits for a 'problem' to happen before it goes into action.

I use a Hughes Watchdog, with Xantrex inverter/charger and Li batteries. No problem.

I use a Progressive Industries EMS-PT50X, my inverter/converter is a Xantrax 458, my batteries are LiFePO4 and have only experienced issues when the PT50X did not like the park power and would not let it pass through to the motorhome in the last month at two different parks. We had to move to different sites both times. There are many RV surge protectors and RV EMS devices on the markert so choose carefully and you won't go wrong.
