with all talk about the convection, is there any benefit to vent a new install?

I don't use the microwave for heating, or very little. I do use the convection for cooking, both at home and the rv from time to time. Is it worth considering an outside vent?

any down side having a vent with another opening to the outside?

thx neal for the link to the adventium. had one in the last one 10 yrs ago from Lowes for about $1,100+. it worked well. and this one for $1,300+ not too bad

Having ordered my coach with an outside vent I will say I will never have another coach thats not vented. World of difference. The heat goes outside

Just from our experience…

We had the convection microwave in our Superstar. I priced getting a vent added then decided I didn’t really need another hole in the coach 😊

We were full time for four years and used the convection for baking bread etc.

Never really missed having it vent outside. We did have a ceiling vent in the same area that we used when needed.

Absolutely, I installed one myself but you talk about a pucker factor when I was cutting a 4" hole in the slide wall.

We've had a convection/microwave in our last three RVs and never had them vented. We have really never noticed it heating things up inside...maybe we just weren't paying attention. We're about to head out on a five-week trip and will be cooking a lot with the convection oven. I'll try to pay closer attention.

I can tell you beyond any doubt, cooking with the gas stovetop certainly DOES heat things up for us, so we avoid that as much as possible.

And also in our past three or four RVs, we have NEVER used the actual oven for anything but storage.

Sounds almost intuitive doesn't it?

Here's My take.

Venting in My view is moisture control. If your area has a fight with mold or just high humidity then venting where you cook or shower is a good idea. Mentioning the heat seems prudent, but if you camp in cooler locations you may be thinking keeping the heat is a good idea.

I don't vent! I spend My time in the desert Southwest. Then I don't like cracking lips and skin that seems like it belongs to a snake. AC removes moisture! I only use it when comfort seems prudent.

May seem like off topic somewhat, but nessisary.
