Question Tow Vehicle

I have a 37' travel trailer that weighs ~7,000 pounds. I am currently towing with a Ford F250 Super Duty. I am considering trading it in for a new F150 3.5L EcoBoost, long wheelbase, with the necessary towing package. We travel quite a bit; approximately 12,000 miles in a year. Some of this is mountain driving; Colorado, Utah, etc.

I'm wondering if anybody has experience with the F150 towing this size of a TT and can offer some advice.

37' is too much trailer for a 150/1500. That's going to push the truck around like crazy, especially in the mountains or in high winds.

Maintenance and fuel costs. I just paid over $100 (~19 gallons) to fill up on diesel!

In that case, I'd recommend a gas 250/2500 for that much trailer.

Agree with Rosy: I've tried the F150 on a Flagstff Super lite which has a dry weight of 6700, even with the tow packages the F250 was much better. The F 250 has larger axles, bigger brakes, and stronger suspension parts, get the gas model you will be happier with that.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have ruled out downsizing to a 150/1500 class truck.

But I also just had a discussion with my wife, and we decided to keep our F250 Diesel for now. It is a 2016. We have had to replace the transmission, radiator, turbo intake assembly, and a few other smaller things. The engine is fine (133,000 miles) and have no other issues with it for now. So... unless something major changes, we plan on keeping it.
