Resolved Travel Warning: North East US Fuel shortage

I bought locking caps for my diesel but figured it was just a hassle. While I still feel the risk is 1% or less of someone contaminating or siphoning my diesel that 1% scenario could be an expensive one. I need to find where I put those and just use them.

My chevy colorado doesn't even have a fuel cap!

I always use locking caps and generally keep all vehicle gas tanks full. Things can happen very quickly these days.

I suspect most people wouldn't notice fuel fill caps on the side of my fiver, unless they are pretty familiar with RVs and recognize it as a toy hauler. The pump handle/nozzle is inside a door and can only be turned on from inside the fiver.

I may have to consider a couple locking gas caps though.

For those of us with DEF equipped diesels, if you are considering locking fuel caps I guess you must also consider locking DEF caps. Imagine the derate codes being thrown if someone decided to mess with what’s in the DEF tank!
