We just bought a Forester 3051S that doesn't have bumpers but does have a hitch receiver in the back and claims to have the ability to tow 7500lbs using that receiver. I want to take my TK1-folding e-trike (wgt = 75 lbs) with us when we go camping but I am curious if a rack, designed for a trike, would hold up during regular driving? The receiver should be strong enough if it can tow (which we won't be doing---just want to use a hitch receiver trike rack on it) but I wonder if the usual bounce that happens during regular road travel would affect the bike or even affect the drive? Anyone know?

We carry the e bikes on our recever with a quality carrier designed for ebikes,I might suggest some sort of chain binder to keep it from bouncing and a camera to keep a eye on it. We remove our batteries when transporting bikes long distances, this helps with the weight.

You should be fine by a comfortable margin, as said above, get a quality carrier.
