You do know there is a main breaker in your load center right?

Sign be damned, I'm turning the breaker off every time I plug in or unplug. I often see labels stating the opposite: Turn the breakers off when plugging in or unplugging.

Yeah, I’d be turning off before plugging in even though I only plug in the watchdog first - make sure good - turn off breaker - plug in coach cable to watchdog - close breaker.

They don’t wear out that fast unless they are using cheap breakers.

Just my 2 cents.

x2 always turn off to plug/unplug

That is a surprising answer from NIRVC. Times must be rough all over.

Sorry, breakers are cheap. Electronics in motorhomes are not nor is the threat of getting shocked desired.
Yep, cheap. Last ones I bought, if my memory serves me correctly, were about $16.00 at Loews. That may not be exactly right, but under $20 for sure.

On average, I replace a couple each year. It's a 15 minute job. One of my least issues.

For my safety and health of my coach I would turn off the breaker. Sorry, breakers are cheap. Electronics in motorhomes are not nor is the threat of getting shocked desired.

But I'm open to opinions/feedback, is turning off the breaker unnecessary?
I’ve seen a similar sign at a couple campground, if I recall when it’s been cold out. Needless to say, still follow what I’ve heard over the years and off when plugging / unplugging. Then I turn back on just in case there is some other load that I am unaware of. Leave it as I found it.

"Sign be damned" is right. I would be doing what is best for my rig vs. their power pedestals. Is this just a way to try to burn something else out on the coach to have to add on as another repair later? I hope that doesn't mean they are plugging and unplugging storage customer rigs on live circuits.

Best,
-Mark

You ask this question, already knowing the answer . . .
