My wife and I thought maybe I would do it by myself this year and get a little experience under my belt and then we can all do it next year and I might be of some minor help to the instructor next year. We go to the keys several times every winter so it’ll still happen.
Most instructors prefer to work with a Dive Master by their side when teaching others. Anything less does not comply with PADI recommendations. As a certified Dive Master, rescue diver, and salvage diver, I've worked with several instructors. The Dive Master diver has specific duties when working with students. Parents are welcome,....... but best relegated to sit by the pool sipping cocktails during lessons.
