Question Water heater diverter valve installation

Hello all. New here but not to RV life. Thetford 94228 diverted valve needs to be replaced. Do I need to take the new one apart and put pipe dope on the elbows threads or is it good to go from the factory?

From what I can find out you should be good to go. They claim they are leak tested.

Thank you. I took one out and there is a rubber gasket inside like a garden hose.
