A SHOUT OUT......
On one of our trips this year we were passed by a gravel hauler that was letting its gravel fly as it passed us going the other way.
The truck windshield took a hit, and once we got to the campground Denise saw that the front windshield on our trailer got cracked too.
What a hassle trying to get it all fixed.
The truck was easy, the trailer not so much.
I finally contacted the company that reps this trailer back in Indiana, and she was able to run me down a window. They no longer offer it in our model, but found one, it's on its way.
I don't want to go through this again, so I started to research ways to protect it.
I found one online that would require me to pay first, they then send a kit, you make a template of your window, send it back, and they make a window covering that is held on by placing magnets inside the trailer window, and they cost over 400 bucks, and many people shared they blow off, and get no response from the folks....
So, I kept searching, and while reading reviews one person listed another provider that has windshield coverings for trailers.
I called that number but went to voicemail, and I thought I prolly won't hear from them, either.
But my phone rang a short time later and I was talking to a live person, the owner actually.
I told him of my make and model, and he said he didn't carry any that would fit that brand.
We continued to talk as I shared my problem with him, and he said to just hang on a minute as he wanted to find a picture of our trailer to see what the window looks like.
He found it and said he believes he has one in stock that might fit that window, as it looks like the exact same window but on a different brand model of trailer, and he asked if I could actually measure mine.
I went outside while he was still on the phone and measured it, he said the ones he has would most likely fit.
He shipped it out to me that very day, giving me additional parts to install it on my damaged window first, just to be sure while I wait for the new one.
It fit GREAT and took less than an hour to install.
When cleaning the window to install the Velcro tape that holds it in place to the already attached "fluffy" side of Velcro, I noticed my windshield had lots of other "pits" that I assume where debris hitting it while towing but just not big enough until that one pebble hit it.
So, if you have a front windshield you might want to look unto this product. I attached a photo pf the finished install, we love it and believe me it's not blowing off, and half the price of the other one and you don't have to make a template, etc...
BTW, he has some other neat stuff for trailers too, the awning brush I am going to get, and the step/stairs cover too.
Web address is: trailersphere.com and BTW, he is here in the PNW too, out of Kirkland, Wa. and pulls his own trailer camping.
Note: I have absolutely no affiliation with this business, I share with the hope others in my predicament might find a solution as I did, I was beginning to lose hope and kind of bummed that we had a front windshield on the trailer that we love, as it sits right above our sleeping heads and so nice to wake up to a great view of the great outdoors each morning......
