Question What generator should I go with if I’m looking for constant power to all appliances

looking for a generator that will pretty much power everything without having to shut other appliances off! Give me as many details and tips as you can, I’m new to this life currently have a house powering my camper!!

Is your camper 30 or 50 amp? Start there. 30 amp 4000 watt gen 50 amp 6000 watt gen

Try to buy a gen to match the amps on your rig and you should be good.

It will get more complicated in a 50 amp rig, there are actually two 50 amp legs at 6k watts apiece. A 30 amp only the one leg. You're however not going to want to be hauling around a 12,000 watt generator, so some compromises may be necessary. Even in a 30 amp configuration and on shore power most can't run all all the appliances simultaineously, ie., A/C, microwave, water htr......ordinarily some load shedding must occur, either manually or automatically.
Determine what appliances you think are essential, calculate the necessary wattage and allow some wiggle room, ergo, if you're wanting to boondock in Arizona in midsummer you may determine running two 15k btu rooftop, a/c's 24/7 to be essential. The more appliances with an option to run on gas the better.

First off Welcome to RVforums. We are glad you are here. It would be real helpful if you could give us more details on your rig and how you use it. Maybe take a minute to finish filling out your profile.

You will need to figure out what you full power demand will be and increase that by 10% for some margin. Also need to consider fuel type, size and weight , especially if this is something you will have to take in and out in order to run it.
