Area extremely crowded with Dollywood & Gatlinburg close by, pretty much tourist trap geared for families and kids.

Drive around Smokey Mountain National Park was nice with great views.

Sitting in our "campsite" waiting for the coach yearly service to be finished at Freightliner Gaffney after a great breakfast of livermush and eggs at Danny's Cafe in Blacksburg, then a hilly 2 mile hike at Kings Mountain State Park.

Just returned from a swing from Charlotte, NC through TN, KY, OH, WV and back to Charlotte. Amongst the places we stayed was the Kentucky Horse Park Campground. Campground is nice, clean and basic with 30/50 amp and water. Dump site on premises. Level and paved in a grove of trees adjacent the horse park and polo fields. Reasonable ATT cell, slow/spotty internet.

The real attraction is the Horse Park and the Legacy Trail. Spending a day at the horse park is immersion into equine sporting and show. For a non-horseman, it was just a delightful way to spend the day. Museums, restaurant, free horse shows going on and more. Two living Derby winners are retired there, Go for Gin and Funny Cide.

The Legacy trail is a 12 mile paved trail from the horse park to downtown Lexington. It is paved and runs through the most beautiful horse country and landscape you can imagine. Just breathtaking vistas around every turn.

We stayed for three nights and it turned out to be a most pleasant and delightful diversion.

Deer Springs RV Park Franklin, NC

We visited this past week for 4 nights having watched this park being built by Jim & Trisha on this forum. They have done a wonderful job and continue to enhance this wonderful little park in the mountains of NC. Great hosts that do everything to make your stay memorable.

Gazebo with refrigerator, sink, fan and lights was awesome and spent lots of time utilizing while watching college football. Fall colors and stars were amazing.

Looks scary.
It was only about three inches deep. Not a problem for 54,000 pounds. But, hey, it's close to Halloween, so scary is OK.

One of my fav and most peaceful camping destinations. Had a hard time booking a reservation online, maybe it was me, called and got in for a week a little late for fall colors, or maybe it's still early, not sure. Campground is around 40-50% occupancy ironically but end of season so maybe they limited occupancy. Office closed for covid so nighttime registration in effect. I have a feeling a lot of campgrounds do this as it's just easier on them then having customers coming in for check-in. They did call me to review and complete the registration 2-3 days prior.

Picture taken far enough away to hide the dirt. Wash coming Saturday, day prior to departure, breaking CG rules (hope they don't read this).

Wow, check out the promotion! Very nice Neal!

One of our favorite campgrounds as well. We love the area. How do you get there? The last time we went we came in off of I-81. 211 over the mountain was not a lot of fun.

Exited I-64 at Gordonsville then whatever that route is to Luray. It is the shortest so the Garmin routing was correct. It was pretty with fall colors but I'll likely go home 81 to 64.
