Back at Longhorn RV Resort in Niederwald, Texas (population 546). Waterfront this time. Rumor mill says J&JD may show up in a few days.
And it even looks like you are keeping the site next to you wide open for him.:cool::cool:

Heading in on the 10th and 11th of February to sample old time Bbq in Lockhart😁😁😁Judy D

Seriously looking forward to the visit/trip. JD

Looking up Niederwald, lol, Dang, it EXISTS. There's a couple of towns in Texas with similar names. I'm familiar with Nederland and Needville.

Nah, Canon shot. Taken from behind the clubhouse with a zoom lens.

Your site is looking good, @Jim. This is a nice place and I like the location.

Parked in the back yard after the Tampa show. Ready for departure in May.

Sun Outdoors of Orange Beach, AL (Fomerly Pandion Ridge). One of a few sunny days we’ve experienced since being in the Gulf Shores area this winter season. Still beats hell out of snow and ice though.

Longhorn Rv, Niederwald Texas, with @GlampDaddy’s Mountain Aire in the background. Going to enjoy some Texas barbecue with them this evening. Always great to meet up with fellow rvforums people.

Looking forward to some real Texas BBQ with Jerry and Judy. Nothing on the menu with pineapple...I checked!

We just spent a couple of nights at the Coushatta Casino RV park in Kinder, LA. Typical casino stay, except for unexpectedly arriving during the Kinder Cup Barrel Racing Championship. Completely surrounded by cowgirls, horses, and cattle dogs. Some of the rigs these folks travel in are impressive!

Stella Mare resort, Galveston Tx. Quiet resort with real long level concrete spots, decent wifi & good OTA tv. Galveston is a fun stop for most anyone. And thanks to a tip from @GlampDaddy we took the FREE ferry east off the island (toad & all hooked up), allowing us to miss Houston’s tough traffic.

Wait a minute---you took a ferry with the Dutchstar? Tell me more about that experience. Any concerns with loading angles and dragging? I have read only nightmares about getting a big coach on a ferry, and have never even considered this.

Several times. Today in Galveston was a super simple load/off load, very level docking. Tight side to side but really a piece of cake.
We also have ridden one from Vancouver to Vancouver island and from Victoria to Washington State. The only bummer was the $350 one way fee from Vancouver to Vancouver Island. As for the on/off, absolutely no problem at all except for the DW cringing at the side-to-side clearances. Also, the loading guides do a great job of protecting the coach as you maneuver on/off. Much like an experienced guide helping you back into a tight rv site.

That is very good to know. The vancouver one is the ferry I was most interested in doing. If that goes well, I have considered the Alaska inner passage ferry too.
