Whirlpool Refer water issue

A quick Google search says you can. Even if your manual says it can’t I would give it a try.

Thanks. I may have tried it with the door open and I know it won't dispense water with the door open.
 
I removed the filter and the water flowed freely. This was the 3rd filter I had tried.

I returned the last filter I bought to Lowes and was told they get returned regularly so I did some research. Apparently, a "bad batch" of these filters has been manufactured all with the same problem. At $40-50 a pop, I'll go filterless for a while.
 
some of these filters have a cap on the inside that needs to be removed before installation. they are usually clear so hard to tell they are there.
