Anyone know of a reputable shop that does RV windshield replacement on the Central California coast ? Thus far I've found good shops in Oregon and Arizona. Geezzz, did they outlaw RV glass shops in CA too ? Thanks in advance (if you know of any)

If you're going through insurance such as Duncan they can tell you where to take it.

Thank you...they are "DEFINATELY" the most professional thus far. Their shop(s) is either Eugene OR, or Phoenix AZ. They don't have "people" in this neck of the woods. Might be trekking to AZ in the future.

I know the Coburg facility is located in a nice secure area and has 50 amp service in their parking lot so you can stay while the windshield is being replaced. No water or sewer however. Don’t know about other locations. Several people I know have stayed there with high recommendations. AND, you can go down the block a few hundred feet and drool over the Marathon Coaches parked at the Marathon Factory!??

We are in UP Michigan. Just looked at the windshield, and there is a vertical crack top to bottom.
Looks like a chip that was repaired 2 years ago was the starting point? Anyway, tomorrow will have to deal with it. It never ends......

My windshield cracks will have to get a lot worse and/or obstruct my view of the road before I’ll replace the windshield. Im fairly certain a new one would quickly earn a chip and subsequent crack anyway. So for the forseeable future, I can live with mine. I do mark its progress with a sharpie just to keep track of it, though I’m not sure why….

Mine is the whole windshield top to bottom both layers of glass. Can not risk it blowing in my face at 65 MPH.

I highly doubt it would. I'd wait until you get back home, i.e. near end of trip and then replace. Last year I had a crack most of my journey, returned home, later went out again for the replacement.

Agree. We have driven thousands of miles with long cracks. There is zero chance of your windshield collapsing. Replace at your leasure.

I was wandering what about the magnets on the Magneshade? How did you place them in the same spots on the new windshield?
Maybe a trip to their shop is in the fut?

You'll need to remove them, suggested to use spacers or put them on a cookie sheet, etc. After replacement you'll have to reinstall the magnets. Not hard to do. Take a picture if needed but I typically put up the top left and right big magnets, that will hold up the shade, then I put the other inside magnets in place, go from there. If needed ask Magneshade for installation instructions if you didn't keep them. I've done it too many times now, not hard.

You will need more adhesive that goes on the magnets, the cylene spray or whatever it's called, strong Isopropyl Alcohol and maybe 0000 steel wool pads if you need to remove any wax or stuff on outside of windshield where outside magnets go.
