There’s a saying in the military that goes something like “No plan ever survives contact with the enemy”. The same could be said about Mr and Mrs Neemer’s plans for this winter.
We headed out on 28 Dec on what was supposed to be a two month excursion into southern Florida. Two days into the trip I began to feel under the weather. By the fourth day, I was down hard and Kelly was beginning to feel it too.
If you have been able to escape this flu variant that’s been making the news, count yourself lucky. It’s special.
We extended an overnight stop in Tifton GA to six nights, trying to become human again. We both felt so bad it became obvious FL was not in the cards this year. So we turned around and headed north towards home.
Yesterday, we were on I-95 going through Richmond VA, about an hour from home. The weather was bad and I-95 was littered with accidents. Unfortunately, we became part of the carnage when a Ford F-150 spun out beside us and took out our Sprinter toad.
We are home now and licking our wounds. The insurance companies will do what they do and eventually things will go back to normal. What a way to start the year.
