Does anyone know if box is hollow underneath the mattress box? Wanting to install sleep number bed and would like to mount air pump in the box by headboard area instead of outside of it.

Why rig?

Many are just a sheet of plywood with storage underneath.

We need to know what kind of RV you have to try and answer that question.

@AbdRahim is correct that under bed storage is often available, but sometimes there can also be slide motors and other mechanics down there if you have a bedroom slide.

Ultimately, there’s only one way to find out. Grab a drill.

Mine is full of wires, tubes, cables and stuff.

It’s a 2017 cardinal 3456RL. Front bedroom with king size bed. Just ordered a special 70” wide air-pedic 850 that’s 1.5 “ thicker than the dynasty currently installed. While installing the air pump under the box, thought I might cut/reduce the height by the 1.5” deference? Guess I won’t know till current mattress is removed and take off the plywood.
