Last week my 6 months old iPad stopped charging while in Hershey PA. Apple was great on the phone and arranged for me to exchange it for a new one in Traverse Mi. (y)
Buy may I ask what you went too?
 
iPads need the higher wattage chargers. Not all USB plugs can charge an iPad.

Thanks Neal that is some real important info to know. I'll make sure she gets a charger to fit the iPad she gets.
 
Use the one it comes with is the key. iPhone charge bricks are lower wattage than the iPad ones.

I use only the charger supplied with the iPad. Just that suddenly it stopped taking charge. It was tested at the store, and they agreed that it failed internally.
