Bought our coach used 2 years ago, has the stationary high def dish on the roof and the traveling dish. We haven’t used either of these for TV. Would love to take these off and free up some roof space.
We have only had Starlink for a couple months of use, but found it to be a game changer. It is pricy but the unlimited data is one big thing in its favor. Dropped our FMCA plan and are keeping our ATT 100GB plan for backup when in areas without a clear view of the sky.
This is not related to the Starlink / satellite question BUT - You said "free up roof space". Can I honestly ask, for what? It freaks' me out to even get on our MH roof. I can't imagine what I would need more room up there for. Please remember, I asked honestly.

Many people these days use much of their roof space for solar cells. If you are interested in boondocking having extra space can be very important. If you are a person who largely stays in RV parks with hookups, this is less of a benefit.

Did or are you removing the sat dish from the roof?? If so are you leaving the heavy mount up there, or planning on removing it and filing in the holes. I too am going 100% streaming via Starlink and using the cellular as backup, bailed out on Dish but haven't pulled the exterior components yet.
I left the Winegard mount plate on the roof so I wouldnt have to fill a bunch of holes and it sits comfortably under a solar panel. Also removed the OTA antenna and left that mount but had to cut a couple inches off one side to clear the panel over it.

I’m hoping to see the Starlink launch from Vandenburg tonight. We are SE of there which should allow good viewing depending on cloud cover by then.

Mission was postponed until Jan 15, so I’ll try again. I hope to get some pictures. Vandenberg SFB - Space Launch Schedule

I have the RV version in use at my home right now and I’m quite happy. I have it on a retractable flag pole getting the idea from a post on here. It is 1000% faster than my dsl. I was getting 8Mbps on dsl. We do not have cable here. So now I can retract the pole and remove the dish, take the pole and dish with us in the Rv.

Has anyone gone with the new fixed antenna yet? It is a significant cost adder, but not having to fuss with cables and antenna every set up/ break down would be nice as well.

That's OK, if you never park under trees. :)

Just an update, the "unlimited data" has been mentioned a couple of times in this thread. That isn't the case anymore. A couple of months ago, Starlink imposed a 1tb data cap.

Probably still not a problem for most, but just so you know.

We just got ours since the KOA in Davenport FLA is a dead spot for T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. It works OK and I get between 8 and 180 on the speed test depending on the time of day. It is interesting that in the first 24 hours, I got between 120 and 200 then after the first 24 hours I got throttled down to the RV level of speed. I really hate to pay the 135.00 since this is the second time I have not been able to use my unlimited Calyx T-Mobel 5G hotspot and get 200 to 700 on the speed test the costs me 43.66 a month for service. Since we paid for 3 months at this KOA we get some use out of Starlink and maybe the next time we don't have service.

The "data cap" applies only to the high priority data that Starlink residential customers receive. Starlink RV users don't get "high priority data" so they don't have a data cap. Even for residential users it's not really a "cap"; it's just a limit on the quantity of priority data that you receive.
