All of it blends together today. There were no more dams to build and moons to go to so they just change the world in an imaginary way. And force society to believe it. Just like pretending we can all drive electric cars and not curb our travel in any way.....
I’ll bite. How does my electric vehicle curb my travel?

At the the moment it doesn't, hopefully it won't. Charging can be controlled via smart meters, as some folks in roving blackout locations have found out.

Don't worry about it! Don't worry about bank failure either! It will be fine.

Can’t say I have ever seen that here. There is definitely no capability of doing that here. Curious where you live that does this. That is some serious backup facility.
You've never heard of a diesel generator?

Limits how far you can travel in the same amount of time due to recharge times. Also limits you to going to places where you can charge.

Hey team - let’s monitor ourselves so we don’t require the moderators to step in here.
👍🏻

I love good discussion of pros and cons - just need to keep it respectful of other opinions.

Oh ok. I haven’t experienced that. But Re the second one. yes I’m sure there are places that don’t have charging infrastructure in place yet.

This Diesel Electric system greatly simplifies the drive train. Just run a wire and install a motor wherever you need drive power or PTO. No drive shafts or complex differentials.

I misunderstood. I thought you meant that the grid where you are was backed up by diesel genny. My bad.
That’s usually done with natural gas fired local power plants. I also once saw a big jet engine driven generator providing power to an island -San Salvador if memory serves.

Sorry to disagree Rich. I know of at least three Edison power plants based in neighboring states that feed California due to carbon credits, that are dirty coal burners. I have been told of others that are dirty oil burning that do the same, for the same shell game. When you know you know!!! When you don't you think you green.
