This is on the '07 Expedition 38N. Solar is in the future, but for now I'm going to try installing the 100Ah lithium in the chassis position, plug the combiner back in, and take some measurements. Thanks for your input.
In the photo below is the marked area where I should find the solar pre-wire? I understand one needs to drill thru the roof covered by the metal plate to access the solar pre-wire?
Greetings One and All--
Yesterday I completed installation of six 200W Rich Solar panels on the roof of my Ventana 3709 with combiner box. I also called Mangum Energy to ask whether my 2812 inverter and my new ME-ARC50 remote control advanced series works with my inverter revision or if I...
A friend showed me this inflatable solar lamp that work really well. They are great outside near the camp site. Slightly expensive but very portable and effective.
Hopefully full link works now.

Last year we got the whole solar and lithium upgrade from SES. Our primary purpose was to be able to boondock some and reduced generator usage while boondocking. If we are travelling campground to campground, unless we need to exercise the generator, we run the house AC's on solar/battery...
My wife Cindy and I have been RVing for over 25 years owning three different motorhomes with solar panels on the roof. The first two had 400W of ridged tilting panels that required me to climb and manually tilt the panels to gain optimum output while boon docking. Both of these motorhomes had...
Have had an issue with Patriot brand AA batteries not charging via the USA port in my Bullet Ultralite, but the AAA ones work just fine when attached to their 4 battery charging leash.
Looking to buy a bunch of AA size that will actually work in a 4 battery charger station. I have ones I got...
Hi! New members here— we are carefully considering the purchase of a 2015 e- trek, or Eco trek ( I’ve seen it both ways) with the solar PV unit. We wondered if any current or former members have pointers for what to look out for when looking at this model. Thanks so much!
We just bought a new 2021 Coachmen Chaparral 373MBRB that is pre-wired for rooftop solar. We see the connection on the roof, but cannot find the other end of the wires and/or the charge controller. Any suggestions?
I have 6 100 w solar panels. Im not going to use the rig for a few month and would like to shut done all power to the rig. I'm thinking on shutting of the batteries and pulling off negative lead, disconnect a/c shore and inverter. Also, i was thinking to disconnect the solar panels by...
So I have a fifth wheel that has a built in generator, had it installed at the dealer when it was new. I want to put in a solar set up with an inverter and auto switch so I don't have to run the generator as much when dry camping. Because of the built in generator there is already an auto switch...
I wouldn't have a 12 volt fridge for what we do. Most of our camping is on federal lands with no hookups. We do have lithium batteries with 330 volts of solar but the 12 volts of the fridge would eat that up pretty fast.
Ah the land of entrapment. The nickname says it all. 18 years, and never again.
Portable is good.
Before you mount solar on a ground mount look up all the red tape that political corruption will have you going through.
I won't advocate solar generators, because they are to limited, and...

AS far as solar, we need to know how you are going to use the coach, dry camp a lot, or go from shore power to shore power. Inverter should be a pure sine wave and at least 2000 watts
The same applies to houses with solar. I see a lot in my neighborhood. My BIL works for the power company and also states, it will never pay for itself, well, not in the lifetime or ownership of the current owner. It's sort of a scam by companies offering solar for homes IMHO, they sell you on...
Don't make Solar Prep an option, make it STANDARD in ALL Newmars. This sets Newmar above the others, make every coach "green" solar ready. Solar prep is nothing more than running the 6 AWG wires to the roof and ethernet to the inside. I'm sure the costs could be covered in the sale price...
