We have had people ask us about that. But so far catastrophic battery failure (where the battery needs replacing) is less common than a gas engine failure (where the engine needs replacing). It happens. But it’s pretty rare. A typical battery is warranted for 8 to 10 years or 192000 km. The expected battery life is 300,000 to 500,000 kilometres. So essentially the service life of the car. As well, 3rd part battery rebuild shops are starting to pop up. I’m sure the industry will adapt.

True story. Our GMC 3/4 ton with a 350 packed it in a week after the 3 year warranty. Expensive. Ugh.
