I look at it like a bad ground. Its the whole circuit, not just he positive side.

I had the slow fill tube on water fill up and it was the vent line was blocked. On 2 campers.
I would suggest that by straightening out the fill tube you allowed it to vent by itself. But the vent tube was not venting or it would not matter. Did you have a vent tube on that print washer?

I get that. A vent tube that closely follows the fill, has the same problem as a rule. Thus the problem is.

I lean toward Kevin's suggestion that the problem may have cropped up as the result of an in tank fuel pump replacement. Easy enough afterwards for the person pushing the tank back up to compress the vent hose, unseen, with an interference pushing against the hose making the hose initially fish mouthed at the compression spot but still venting enough to not be a problem. As the hose yielded further and took a set, the fish mouth may have later fully closed.

Troubleshooting is often all about determining what isn't the problem. Unclamping the vent connection at the hard pipe interface seen in the photos and then connecting a temporary hose, twice, to mouth blow test for vent line blockage BOTH directions at that connection would be the first test to perform.

If vent path is blocked when blowing toward the tank, unbolting the tank and dropping it down for the fix would be next...

Still working on the fuel tank. I pulled the soft portion of the vent tube and was able to blow air both to the tank and towards the fill door/opening. I found some cracking in the tube right near the end that attaches to the hard section so I cut that off and reattached

I strapped the fill tube up to get all but like 1” of the p trap taken out

Ran to the gas station to test fill. No luck it still clicks off after only 5 seconds

The latest thing I’m wondering about is IF the tank was out before could the tank height position be reinstalled to high? In this pic it almost looks like the tank is lower on the near side which is where the fill and vent tube attach. I also can see some shiny metal on the shroud in front of the gas tank. Maybe this can be lowered? Thank you for any help and thoughts

Air may bypass an obstruction that a fluid at high speed will not. Maybe get a cheap telescoping camera and scope it out?
