I have a 4 year old 5th wheel that I just bought and it has one battery that is AGM
12v 110am @C100
12v 100am @c20
it gets charged from a solar panel and I assume from my truck. My question is, can I just add one more battery that says
AGM
12v 110am @C100
12v 100am @c20
and hook up the 2 positives and the 2 negatives
or will it not get charged correctly or ?
My goal is to just have a bit more battery life as inexpensively as possible

Thx!

Adding a new battery to an older battery to battery bank can be problematic. The battery bank will tend to perform to the weakest battery. If the existing battery is 4 years old, you might consider ditching it and buy 2 new ones. Yes, your battery specs should match. Yes, connect positive to positive and negative to negative with short jumper cables. You want the cable paths through your battery bank to be the same length (or as close as practical). In your case with 2 batteries, connect the positive out to the RV on one battery positive terminal and the negative to the negative terminal on the other battery. Connect your power/charging (solar and input from the truck) in the same manner.

You must buy two new batteries. If not you will compromise the new one and overall reduce battery life

Thanks for the help!!! The present battery is 4 years old, so I think I will replace it. I need to figure out if my converter is Li compatible.
