Didn't want to mislead anyone here so I went back out and checked the level. Still right where it was when new.

You are checking the tank aft of the chassis batteries, right? :)

For those that have not had to top off the fluid, have you considered checking the quality of your fluid? I believe it's a pH test per ITR. At some point the fluid needs to be replaced. For those of us topping off I think that helps keeping it fresh and is less of a concern to me for testing or replacing.

Anyone here that's done a pH test on the OASIS system?

Yes, the tank inside the engine hatch. No, I'm afraid to check the ph. From talking with some at ITR, the system is all stainless so he (or she) wasn't worried about ph values as far as corrosion and they have seen systems with 15 year old fluid. Not sure as far as thermal value, but being a bit frugal, 🤣 changing 12 or so gallons of fluid at 28 bucks a gallon isn't at the top of my long list. I'm sure someone here will respond with a good reason I should change it out and it will get added to the list.

I have thought about changing it out....but I agree it would be a lot of fluid ($$) and not a lot of fun.... I did buy a PH tester... Now I just need to get a sample out of it and make sure I know how to use the tester.

We were having to add fluid the first couple years after we got our new to us coach. After we had a couple very slow leak connections fixed and then after fixing the take up tube in the overflow container a couple years ago, haven’t had to add any fluid.
Now that we hit the 10 year mark, been wondering about the pH - adding to my list of things to look into (my “what to do when I am considering boredom” list)

I have mine serviced every year hole in Florida by Hydronic Heating Specialist. He is from Elkhart area but comes to FL every winter and services in many parks.
Last year when he checked the PH he said it was a little high but recommended just adding water to reservoir when low. He will be back next month so we’ll see what it is

I know Newmar Service Center has a standard quote for fluid change and it’s about $2k

Here is description of service from service center. I was a little high on cost, see attachment

#58: Hydronic Heating System Flush
- When PH strip test reads under 8 fluid flush and replacement recommended.
- 3.5 hrs. and 11 gallons of Century fluid.
- Follow ITR printed procedure for CH50/Chinook/NE-S/NE flushing and replacement.
- Test system after service.

I guess it’s time to change your fluid?

@Chuggs what made you decide it's time to change the fluid? Your coach is a 2016, probably minimally used OASIS...

It brown and yucky.

Sometimes I change things out of guilt. Coach is 9 y.o. Today! CPU started 2/1/2016. I figured I was close enough to Elkhart. May as well pick up fresh fluid. I'll do it this year when doing my annual service chores.

Yes...we probably have less furnace use for Oasis...but as far as Oasis overall --- I do love hot showers!!! Until we put the coach in the service center this week...we have used Oasis a lot on this trip. -15c at times...so, no heat pump. I think I read 66 hrs on this trip for the burner hr meter. We used it a bit back in Feb 21... COLD snap in Dallas that crippled their grid. Used the heck out of Oasis. I think we're at 622 hrs on the burner... no way to count the AC1/2 or pump hrs.. Replaced zone 2 this trip...last of the OE pumps. All three are replacements at this point.

I asked about doing this I think it was 2 years ago, ITR said probably too soon. I think it's approaching time for me as well. I prefer to keep things working in tip top shape and not wait for failure or a more expensive result. I use OASIS a lot, some know I have a thing for ice cold RVing...ugh...not anymore, so it's going to go on my list probably for 2026.

Where did you get that and how much did a container cost? Is that a 5 gallon container?

The other thing I probably need to do is figure out the fittings going into the top of the OASIS unit that are quite corroded. They need to be cleaned and/or replaced and look like a good point of failure. I can only wonder about any fittings I don't see. Anyone have a schematic of the plumbing and if there are any fittings in other locations?

I'd love a "How To" thread if willing on how you serviced your OASIS system. How do you drain it, how do you get all of that fluid in, etc. etc.

I found this procedure online. It makes sense. I need to fabricate the hoses and get a diaphragm pump…

I got mine from Eric when I did my Monaco dynasty aqua hot rebuild.
I just got a quote for 5 gallons of concentrate for $60/gallon or $300/5-gallon pail+ shipping tax etc, so 389.22. Make 15 gallons when mixed with distilled water. will be doing it next month.
