I recently got a PM asking what forum I got my information from on a topic.

Well! that got me thinking how I should answer the question. So this is my answer for all to see.

1. I try to answer, or share what I have learned, so all benefit. Although PM has its place, I would rather answer where others can correct any false information I may be spreading, so public I go.

So you overstand where I come from, I have opinions, and so does everyone else. You know the joke about opinions, although I don't really see it as a joke! Truth be known, I don't look to forums as a source of information, rather as a form of social media.

The forums I visit have been places like, this, Linux forums, electric boats forums, arduino project forums, and such. I like having my intellect stimulated and forums do that for me.

Where do I go to learn something? Tech support sites, edu sites, college class sites and books. Seldom do I take information from a forum for other than a direction to study.

What I offer comes from countless hours of research and experience in the real world, and industry.

Some advice to those that are new to forums!

People like myself Seldom answer questions in an introduction thread. The reason we don't, is we start getting to many hello posts in our notifications with no idea what the content is.

I don't suggest a question with the heading "I have a question ", if your question is about trailer brakes that should be in the heading with more specifics, that way others can find the discussion, and those with information can respond easily.

Now to answer that PM:
When I reached the young age of 60, a full 2/3rds of my life was trailer life. Built a few worked on many. I bring hours of research from my design house/machine shop, and 10 plus years as an industrial electrician to the table. I am still learning and don't know it all. I know nothing, and will not learn nothing, about the industrial grid technology, that is built into these coaches of today, I like simple!
