Looking to replace my Norcold in my 2013 Voltage. There’s a Furrion DC only available to me. I’ve always kind of wanted to get all propane out of my rigs. But I’ve also had a full size residential fridge in another RV and it played hell with my batteries. Is a DC only a bad idea if it’s 12 volt? Shouldn’t drain my batteries as quickly as a residential I’m assuming? I do have an onboard generator.
Anyone have the Furrion FCR10DCG & love it or hate it? Thanks

I wouldn't have a 12 volt fridge for what we do. Most of our camping is on federal lands with no hookups. We do have lithium batteries with 330 volts of solar but the 12 volts of the fridge would eat that up pretty fast.

I replaced the original gas/electric cooling unit on my Norcold 1210IM with the JC Refrigeration 12v compressor about 2 years ago. Have been very happy with the results. We boondock/dry camp about 80% of the time so it runs on our 400ah lithium charged by 1600 watts of rooftop solar. We also have a 12v portable Dometic fridge/freezer in the basement we run at the same time and have never run out of 12v power. The amperage draw is a lot less than people think because the compressor cycles on & off vs the conventional gas/electric is always on. The conversion cost was about 70% less than replacing the entire fridge.
