First post, currently in Florida on our first snowbird adventure to share the holidays with daughter's family/3 grandkids.

2006 Newmar Ventana, official designation: 2006VTDP3933.

Can someone tell me what the mystery cord pictured below, black with 3-prong AC connector, connects to? Based on the male connector, I assume it's meant to be an AC input. The cord passes behind the external connector panel (AC outlet, cable TV, and phone) into the main AC panel above and then into the coach through a foam filled hole with no label or indication where it goes. I've asked the PO (he didn't know) and searched the owner's manual and AC diagrams, but I can't find detail to this level, at least not that I can confidently understand.

Let me know if you need a better pic or more info.

Thanks for any help and Happy New Year!

I thought about this some more and wanted to share my conclusions:
  • Just visible in the picture above the 'mystery' cord, is the bottom of the faceplate for a single 3-prong AC outlet.
  • The outlet isn't labeled, but when I wanted an outlet for power tools outside the coach earlier this year, I figured out that the outlet was powered when the 'Block Heater' CB was on.
  • Based on your input that the cord is for a block heater and my discovery that the outlet was on the Block Heater ckt, the cable must be intended to be plugged into the outlet to be powered by the coach or disconnected from the outlet and plugged into an external power source if coach power is not available.
I think that power cord has been unplugged since I've owned the coach, and during that time there were occasions I'd intended to be using the block heater. Now, thanks to your inputs, I know how to configure the coach's electric system to use the block heater given the available power sources.

Thanks again!

Greg.
