My main reason is expense of ownership.

My second would be size, our 30' is perfect.

Our previous Class A, a 2017 Georgetown, had the V10 gas engine. It worked fine. Averaged 6 mpg at a highway speed of no more that 62 mph. It was dependable, low maintenance, slow, and persistent. No real complaints engine-wise. The MH drove like a school bus. Noisy, rattly, hard to keep straight, and bounced us around like tennis balls in a dryer.
Now, we have a 5th wheel and I bought a Chevy 3500 to tow it. Much more comfortable tow, easier on us than the MH. Average interstate speed is now 65-70 mph and average fuel economy on a 1000 mile trip was 9.0

Love having our diesel Super C after 6 years with a gas class c.

Much easier to go through truck pumps when filling than trying to find a gas station we could get in and out of easily. Having a toad and not being able to backup makes it more difficult in gas stations.

Just my 2 cents.

The higher entry cost along with the higher maintenance cost put the diesel coaches out of my range.
I love my rig, have not experienced the issues with poor ride or handling that are often talked about.
The only negative so far has been the occasional difficulty fueling at the gas islands.
We get around 8 mpg traveling at 65 ish mph.

We have only had a diesel, but we didn’t choose diesel vs gasoline. We choose what we wanted in a chassis and coach, engine type just came with that choice.
Diesel seems to be more expensive to buy and maintain, but does have more torque if you are towing or moving more weight.

I chose gas over diesel for a few reasons . First was the option price of the diesel was 12k. Second was the horror stories of the Def problems, injector problems and pump problems. Diesel fuel is usually more expensive. I tow 12k with no problems but anything heavier I would go with the diesel.

I've never towed something. I don't know if I could back it up. 6 mpg is what I get in my Jayco c gas.

I appreciate your 2 cents worth. Thanks for your reply.

What is the difficulty?

I hadn't thought about the higher maintenance aspect. Thank you for your reply.

Thanks for your reply. Maintenance seems to be an issue with diesel.

I have been through them all, Class C with V10, too small, 36 ft 5th wheel , Than 2 class A gassers, we wanted to be 100% self contained. No problem with either really, But switch this spring to a new diesel pusher, Plenty of power and quiet driving, ride much better. Hills towing car, can't tell its back there. Plus its easier to fuel up than our rear fill gasser was.
