Your question refers to “heating-cooling,” so it sounds like you are looking for a single unit that does both. If so, the heat pump is the only choice that I know of. Propane is commonly used for heating, but I am unaware of any propane-powered cooling units. If you are looking for a single-unit heating-cooling option, the heat pump is it.

Please understand, however, that heat pumps are not an efficient heat source when outside temperatures drop below about 40 degrees, so if you are located in an area where low temperatures drop below 40 degrees, you will need an auxiliary heat source in addition to the heat pump.
