Hi guys (& gals), I'm a total newbie here, this is my first post! :-)

Don't have an RV per se, have a houseboat on a nice lake here in GA, but basically it's just a camper on the water.

Had 4 Lifeline 220Ah AGM batteries in my inverter system (a Magnum MS2812 purchased new in 2010), batts were due for a replacement this year (6 yrs old), decided to try Lithium. I know the the Magnum MS2812 is not designed for lithium batteries, but I've done a good bit of research on this & other RV forums, and see that there are numerous people with the same system that are successfully using it with LiFePO4 batteries by using the CUSTOM setup on the Magnum & setting parameters appropriate for the batteries, so... I'm gonna give it a try.

So just bought two new Vatrer LM12300 batteries (12v 300Ah ea), would like to have a good TESTER that properly reads lithium batteries (also have another 12v 125Ah lithium batt (an X2 brand) that I use for stereo system on the boat, this summer will be it's 3rd year in service, has served me well so far).

Found a tester I thought would be great, an Acclope BT90 Pro (specs HERE), but uopn initial test on these 2 new Vatrers it says "REPLACE" on both of them, shows 0% SoH (State of Health, right?) on one, and 5% SoH on the other one. It does show a very low RESISTANCE number on both batteries that seems great I think?... (a little less than 10 milli-ohms), so, I am confident the batteries are good (as I said - brand new), just don't like that little tester showing "REPLACE" for the SoH. :-\

Anyone have any experience with testers that work well and give expected realistic results on LiFePO4 batteries?

Thanks in advance!!

Get a battery monitor. They work on; power in -power out, and battery losses (resistance). They are set-up when battery is fully charged.

Forget everything you know about maintaining la batteries.

That tester isnt going to work.

WHen they become available again, West Mountain Radio has their CBA-V capacity tester. Its not that powerful but will provide a very accurate capacity test. But they have been out of stock for a bit.

The cheap versions from Amazon work ok but they are very sensitive. I have killed a few...lol.

I use an Itech 8514C+ but they are not cheap

However...I have tested that battery in the video below. Its a good battery. Has a JBD BMS which allows you to use multiple apps. Try the Epoch LION app and you can view both batteries at once. Try the Overkill Solar app and it will give you more info that you know what to do with. It will also allow you to make changes ( I suggest you dont)
