Got the bedroom carpet finished up today.

There were a gazillion corners, angles and tough-to-get-at places to deal with. And the irony of it is there is only about 40' of floor space that you actually see and walk on, the rest is on the sides of the bed pedestal, between the bed pedestal and the wall, around the closets, etc.

But it's done now and no matter where you look, the carpet looks great!

Great job, time to take it out and get dirty?

Today we took a piece of commercial indoor/outdoor carpet and cut it to fit the high-traffic entrance area of the coach.

We made a template out of some cardboard and newspaper, used that to trace around the carpet, and then cut the carpet with a utility knife. Next time I go to town I'll take it to the carpet store to have the edges bound.

Once completed and installed, it should trap a lot of the dust and dirt that tends to find its way in on the dogs feet and the bottom of our shoes. And when it gets dirty, we can take it out and clean it.

Dropped off yesterdays carpet to have it bound. Meanwhile, we removed the drivers side couch and dinette and getting ready to install new carpet on that area.

I know the coach is 10 years old, but darn, how does carpet get that dirty underneath the couch? It's not like anyone's walking on it under there !

Yes, it crazy, but it will look good when your done. Not only that it will smell much like a new motor home.

More carpet for the Phaeton, this time in the salon area. Decided to make a break from the standard, single color carpet that most motor homes seem to have.

So yeah, it's different. :)

I was never a fan of the color that Tiffin painted the trim that goes around the instrument panel. It was a yellowish gold mess. So today's touch of improvement was to change it to something more in keeping with the rest of the dash, which is a soft beige color.

Ordinarily, i would have removed the trim piece to paint it, but the manner in which the carbon fiber background is attached, it would have been a miserable job. So I opted to mask it off instead.

Easy, peazy... :)
