Need to change out frig

Just curious, how will a conventional refrigerator keep cold while traveling down the road, I am new to travel trailers, I thought a RV refrigerator was designed to cool with battery solar propane or electricity.

The use of an inverter! Not that a modified sine inverter won't do the job, but stick with tru-sine because the compressor will live longer!

Our fridge runs going down the road as mentioned above. Before you change out your inverter call the manufacturer and discuss with them the need for the true sine wave inverter. When I did my change out I was able to talk to the engineering group my particular fridge as was told that the Magnum modified sine wave inverter I have would be a good combination with my fridge with no adverse effects. FYI that was 5 years ago and many miles. I had actually purchased a separate true sine wave inverter that I was able to return.

So, a modified sine wave will work,as I stated above! Why do I say Tru sine?
The wave is smooth, most of the time better than grid power. The motors is built with that power in mind.

Modified sine wave is a plus minus square wave, yes square wave! Each cycle is divided into 6 time intervals. This pattern has 4 abrupt on off spikes per cycle. According to electric motor manufacturers this pattern!

Increase vibration in the winding and can result in early winding failure. Will result in increased Eddie currents that increase motor temperatures. Increase vibration resulting in premature bearing failure. Efficiency drops!

For an appliance that should last 20 years, it can and likely would shave a few years off it's life. Will that really bother you? I doubt it.

However if you value quite, if battery size matters to you. Then you may find Tru sine is worth a few bucks to you!

Truth is I don't like opinions. When I research I dig in technical literature to find answers. That is the reason the only inverter worthy of my attention is a low frequency unit. That information is conveniently not talked about in most inverter sales literature. If the person at the dealership has no idea what I am talking about, I quit listening. Luckily just picking up the inverter tells me what I need to know!

I own a 2008 Monaco Diplomat 40SKQ. The frig is a Dometic NDA1402. The water drain heating element is once again burnt out. It appears that they are no longer available and I need to change out the frig. I want to go back with a standard household unit. Anyone done one??? Need help!! Have 26" door opening to squeeze something thru

The part can be found at young farts rv in Canada. Just bought one and installed. If freezer is left open it burns out.
