We have had Starlink for a couple years. Standard antenna, mobile/RV plan.
It has been our backup, but in 2024 our plan is to make it our primary internet source and stop using the Pepwave w/SIM.
Starlink did go up in price over these 2 years, but it is also unlimited, which our cellular data plan through the Pepwave is not.
If you are not full time, Starlink is able to be paused and restarted as needed. No charges for months when paused.
Working full time Starlink is good, video conferencing is good. Not perfect, occasionally will hit a little blip or 2, but nothing worse than the internet issues those working from an office location also experience.
The unlimited is a big plus. In the evenings we don’t need to be concerned and constantly checking/managing our data usage when streaming our favorite shows or movies.
While driving or when doing overnight stops we use our phone data, once parked and setup for a stay, will put the Starlink antenna out.
We do not permanently mount the antenna, this provides flexibility to move the antenna to get a clear view of the sky.
