Hi,
I got a 2005 Palomino Pony pop-up camper that we got from my father-in-law a few years ago, and he got from who knows a few years before that. Nice little camper, but we were having some electrical issues, which we didn't notice until about two weeks before we were going camping this summer, so I didn't want to rip too much apart on it then. When plugged in with the 30amp 110v plug, the outlets worked, but not the lights. I'm still not 100% certain how it is wired up, but they worked the year before. I found by connecting a battery to the trailer wiring, I could get lights, so I rigged up small power bank with two AGMs I had access to to power the outlets. First use at the first campsite, my daughter accidentally kicked the power converter under her seat and everything went dark. We just rolled with it and didn't have lights for the two weeks we were on the road.
I've now parked the camper where we will be storing it and I took out the converter to check it out, since it stopped powering up. When I opened it, I found it burnt in several locations. It seems beyond repair to me with my tools and knowledge.
It's an Elixer ELX-25. Which appears to be no longer made and was replaced with the PD 4135. This unit seems to be back ordered, according to the couple sites I checked.
My first question here is, what would be a suitable replacement for this unit? My knowledge on this stuff is limited currently in regards to inverters and converters and their specs and uses. The camper has a fridge, a few outlets, some lights inside and out, water pump for the sink we don't use, LPG heater.
I'm also looking to potentially set up a few solar panels to help charge a power bank for the few nights we are off grid. Mind you, we might only use the camper for two, maybe three weeks of the year. I have very little idea of what I would be getting into to run the solar, so my focus right now is getting it powered up.

Any input here would be appreciated

Thanks,
Richard L.
