This is what I found that summarizes the changes made and intended to be made. Not sure how hard it is to get the horse back in the barn so to speak, especially in a state that may be against the rollback. I’m sure that dealers in the affected states are going to wait for clarity and any pending legal actions.
I’m curious to see an MSRP on a 26 Newmar pusher to see if the $13K, approximately California chassis charge still is a thing

Ok so now I’m more confused, here are two actual MSRP’s on a California lot
One has the CARB compliant charge and one does not
Maybe the one with the charge was made prior to a rollback of the regulation?

Stuart, seriously…if you’re trying to figure out ANYTHING regarding the CARB and EPA, you’re just burning up brain cells!!!

There’s probably so many parameters such as GVW and datelines that you’ll go nuts attempting to understand for make sense of it.

I had a buddy who had to deal with the EPA and he said it was unbelievably frustrating…UNTIL HE WENT ON TO DEAL WITH CARB! He said the “suits” of CARB outnumber and make the EPA look like preschool!

Encouraging…ain’t it!?

The newest epa engines from Cummins is a real thing. The R&D money was allocated and spent 3 years ago and tooling began before the EPA changed its mind.

The cost per engine is going to be high, and the consumer desire will be low.

Cummins could alter the engine to remove the constraints and DEF, but that will increase the costs. I can see where it will also increase consumer demand.

I might jump at the chance to have a 750HP engine with no DEF for a $20k increase.
