I've recently removed my couch/air mattress in living room of my Ventana. The theater couch recliner backs are much taller. Curious if anyone has cut them down to make shorter and what they use to help pull material off to reuse after cutting frame wood? I need to cut 6-8" off bottom.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Have you considered taking to a local car upholstery shop? They have the tools to remove any staples, steam glue loose, peal back the bottom fabric and foam, cut the wooden backer in the valence bottoms, trim the fabric and foam, stretch, reglue, restaple, etc.

Folks who install custom stereo systems and who fabricate car speaker and subwoofer boxes would also have the tools and skills.

They might not take on the job directly, but may have a good employee who moonlights on odd jobs the shop turns down.

Best,
-Mark
