I'm not sure what has changed at the border, I've only heard this happen a few times in over twenty years hear at Newmar, and you're my second email today with this question.

Newmar Corporation is only required to provide the sticker behind the driver's seat which is generally always accepted when crossing the border. However, Spartan Chassis does stamp the last five digits of the VIN four times on the frame rails. Once on the main chassis frame rail behind the steering axle tires, passenger and drivers side, and the same behind the drive axle tires. If you didn't watch the video, the issue is that Spartan failed to stamp the chassis or rivet a nameplate with the full VIN number to the chassis which apparently is required by law on motorhomes built after 2010 I believe the date was. This is from the video, I have no idea what the law requires and what the problem is.

I checked my spartan and no VIN. It does have a few digits from the end of the vin but that doesn’t meet the federal code.

I figured out that Amazon sells vin tags engraved and with rivets, for less than $20.

I ordered mine. Problem solved

I don't know about that @redbaron, that seems to defeat the original intention of the tag. I'd be a tad bit skeptical. . .
