Hi, question. We have a brand new 2022 forest river cedar creek 371fl. Does anybody know if we have an internal surge protector?
Ac's are coming on and off and freezing up. Went outside and took the surge protector off, had a loose connection at the shore power and plugged unit up without surge protector. Seems to have fixed the problem. Purchasing the slow start for the ac's and a

Hughes Autoformers RV220-50-SP, Voltage Booster with Surge Protection, 50 Amp. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

I would suspect the loose wire was the issue. Did you try using your surge protector after fixing the loose connection?

Just plugged it back up but we just lost power in the park due to storms

I always suspect the power post outlets. They get used and abused. They get loose, make poor contact, and will allow the male pins on the plug to heat. Look at the plug for any sign of heating as evidenced by the plastic housing bubbling up where the male pin enters the plastic housing. Loose connections and high current demands are the worst enemies.

Unless one has evidence of low or high voltage, and one does have the means to monitor the voltage, I wouldn't see the need for a buck/boost or autoformer. To me it is more stuff to carry, more connections to make, and dollars to spend.

X2 on autoformer, I use it in combo with the Watchdog.
