Texas ended State inspections for most counties in Jan. of 2025. However emissions testing remained a requirement in a number of urban counties. There was some confusion concerning MH's. Diesels were always exempt, but until Jan. gas burners regardless of weight were not. I called the DMV last spring and was told gas burners would still be required to undergo emissions testing in the counties not exempted from testing. However now the new standard is no testing regardless of the county where registered if under 8,500 gvw or if the vehicle is not primarily operated in the county where registered ( which would ordinarily be the case for any motorhome). I was able today to successfully register ( for a fee of course) my MH, even though I'm in one of the non-exempt counties and without the emissions certification. One less thing to deal with anyway.
