Well, it took six months, but our local Chevy dealer finally came through for us yesterday.

I’d ordered a ‘23 Suburban back in September, and that order was never accepted by GM. But they got one in yesterday that matched our specs closely enough. There are always a few unnecessary add-ons when dealers spec cars).

A salesman reached out yesterday and asked if I was interested. After work, we made it happen.

The boys were supper excited to check it out. So yeah, here’s our new adventure wagon.

Congrats!

We just got word our Tahoe order was accepted. Started last year with many months of nothing. Excited but now the wait for build and shipping to happen.

Same colour as your Burb.

That's better than over MSRP which is still a thing for some dealers. I'd love nothing more than for things to go back to how they were in 2019 when dealers would compete for your business.

Early in this process, we were considering a Sprinter passenger van. The local Mercedes dealer was charging a $25k market adjustment. That turned me off of the quickly.

Any letting them eat in a new vehicle already! If I did that my kids would completely destroy the interior in very short order. I'm hoping give a darn about others' property starts to kick in around age 13 as it hasn't happened with any of mine yet.

Which reminds me that I need to clean some pizza crust off the floor.

At least you look pretty comfy back there. Are you able to get your wife to pull the TT? I'm having a tough time convincing mine to even try pulling even a small trailer to start with.

I haven’t pulled it with the ‘Burb yet. I’ll worry about getting her pulling it when we go on a trip longer than just going camping. That might not be until next summer. It’ll be a little easier when our youngest is pushing two. We’re going to Canada this summer, but flying this time.

Crossbars and Yakima Skybox both installed this morning. I bought the Skybox from a guy on Fb Marketplace who happens to have played water polo at the same college I did. Small world…

He was selling the Skybox because it was too big for his car. It doesn’t even cover the sunroof on this one. 😜

Well, if you've got to pay for a sunroof because that's what the dealer has, I would imagine it would be nice to get to use it.

I have to admit that it’ll be fun for the kids. I’m thinking especially of Yosemite and and Avenue Of The Giants.

I know it's a matter of perspective but that you previously pulled that trailer with a Highlander and it now looks like it just gave birth to a Suburban, I'm sure this will be a far more comfortable towing experience.

Seeing pics of the burb makes me anxious to get our Tahoe. We got word that it is somewhere between train and truck. Should be soon.
