I made a couple improvements to our 2016 Ventana LE the last few days.

First, I did what others have done by making a template and installing indoor/outdoor carpet in the cockpit. Bought a 4' X 6' Traffic Master rug on Amazon. Was very simple and low cost. the rug was about $70.

Second, I used scraps from the cockpit rug and purchased from Newmar vinyl tile that matches my flooring. I removed the black rubber steps that Newmar installs, cut the tile ans carpet to fit then glued them into place. Looks much better in my opinion, not as slippery as the rubber and easier for our 15 year old dog to get in and out.

Before and after pics attached.

Good idea on the steps…. Does that effect the function of the steps rising up to become floor level?

Not at all. The step pieces are the same size as the rubber I removed and the steps raise/lower just like before.

Ok! Good to know!
