Anyone removed the water pump strainer? I removed mine to back flow wash it as I haven’t touched it in 2-1/2 years. After reinstalling it the pump sounded like it had air in the line and was vibrating excessively. I just removed the strainer. Not sure it’s needed as there are 3 filters in line when filling fresh.

Anyone else running without the strainer/filter at the pump?

When I changed the pump out to the Aqua Jet, I never did install the filter.

Thinking about this, I reinstalled the filter on the pump. There can be debris in the tank from installation (drilling holes) that could mess up the pump if they travelled down the line.

Strainer on the intake side is a must for these pumps. I have seen one being disabled (not pumping) by strand of hair preventing from the rubber membrane from sealing the chamber.

Okay, I was just thinking whatever solids are somewhere should have passed by now. Guess I'll reinstall the strainer :(
