Waterpump not working

The limiting factor for volume is friction loss which is governed by the diameter of the pipe/hose and any restrictions in the appliances (this is very basic fire service stuff). At a fire scene the appliances might be manifolds, stand pipes, and/or master streams (1000+ gpm stuff). In an RV the appliances are faucets, toilets, shower heads, etc.

A pump that is capable of 5 gpm might not be able to flow it’s rated capacity through 1/2” pex, and of course faucets and shower heads have their own limitations. But installing said pump with an outlet at the pump for 3/4” garden hose could very well take advantage of said pump’s capacity. You would have to do the math to be sure, but for my purposes the bigger the better, so I’ll probably get a 5 gpm pump.
 
I have often wondered why RVs don’t use a small pressure tank? The biggest reason I can think of is space issue.
A couple gallon pressure tank would allow for a cheaper and less complicated single speed pump.
