I can probably get more years of service out of my 6 yr old tires, but when I think about the inconvenience and PITA assoc with being hard down on the side of an interstate, I just don’t need that in my life. Plus, I have my wife and two dogs with me. I’ll error on the side of caution.

Think of the down time for a blowout. Probably months getting repaired. Not worth it, nor the potential loss of life. This is the most dangerous part of RVing and the part that has worried me the most. I survived combat but not my RV! I don't want that story to play out.

The warrenty on a new car is 5yrs..do you throw it out at that time? They know how long it will last. And what if you hit the 50k miles in one yr..is it now dangerous to drive? Tires are subject to many variables..stored inside vs out in thd sun..carry heavy load or light..high speed or slow ..to say a 5 yr tire is dangerous is ridiculous.. Everyone can make their own choices..its not for you to call them cheapskatrs..just my opinion..no one needs follow it
"Warranty period" and "service life" aren't necessarily the same thing.

It was mentioned that tire makers know how long tires last..hence their warrenty....im saying you cannot bsse life of tire on a calender..you must consider all the variables I mentioned..and inspect before every use.. dont just throw them out by dates..or you are just wasting your money..but do as you like..I have gotten 10 ,12 years out of tires over 40 yrs. with no disazterous roll over as some predict. AND have seen new tires explode at speed. Just my opinion..

I checked out the websites of the manufacturers of the tires I have on my vehicles and trailer.

Michelin, Bridgestone and Continental all say tires should be in service for a maximum of 10 years.

Goodyear says 6 years.

I couldn't find any info on the Toyo website.

They all specify that this assumes no other issues that would require you to take the tires out of service sooner, as mentioned above.

I don't know anything was said about warranty other than casing warranty.

Recommendations are quite another thing.

The recommendation comes from many years of statistics compiled available to the manufacturers by the covering of warranties.

They know age, tread wear, miles. They can even assume road life based on where the tire was purchased, and where the warranty claim was made. Notice I said assume! Heck they can even assume how the driver maintains the tire and the speeds he travels based on the condition of the interior walls of the tire, and the owners warranty history if he is brand loyal.

Ultimately there is no one more qualified to give tire advice than the tire manufacturer.
