St. Vrain State Park Firestone, Colorado

I rolled out of Angel Fire, NM heading to St. Vrain State Park around 6:30 this morning as heavy morning thunderstorms were forecasted with potential flooding on US-64 between Eagle Nest and Raton, NM. My route from there unfortunately had me on I-25 so I pounded pavement on the Interstate from Raton to just North of Denver on the Front Range. I would much rather cruise around on twisty 2 lane Scenic Byways slogging over high mountain passes than deal with Interstate drivers. Interstate driving is boring... and it is mentally fatiguing keeping track of all these freakin idiots in my mirrors... People drive like they in a NASCAR race...

I was here in the Spring and now the state shows the park as being in Firestone not Frederick... I will be here for a couple of weeks waiting on my youngest daughter to give birth to her first baby. This will be a busy year for new grandchildren... My oldest son and his wife had their second child in March, and my oldest daughter in West Hollywood, is due with her second child in September. It's raining babies...

We left the Carson City area today and drove to Winnemucca,NV. We are headed to Blanchard, Idaho to stay at Stoneridge Motorcoach RV Resort. Nice place to rest for the night.

Do you go to the Motorcycle bike rallies in Baker city Oregon? it is coming up July11-13. Neat town to go visit. Oregon has some beautiful Biker rally rides to go to.

Stayed in Stanfield, OR. on our way to Blanchard, ID. This was a Pilot Gas Station with an RV park. It was actually very nice and with the a/c units running we couldn’t hear any of the trucks near us.

Finally made it to Stoneridge Motorcoach RV Resort in Blanchard, ID. Time to relax and enjoy the mountains, grasses and the surrounding areas.

Keylime Bay RV Park. Freshly renovated in 2022. Easy access and family owned park. Small clean and relatively quiet. Smaller sites back up to a river.

Chatfield State Park Littleton, Colorado

Today I transitioned from St. Vrain State Park North of Denver to Chatfield State Park South of Denver. On my way I stopped by my home dealer, TransWest RV, to have my hydraulic leveling system serviced and also make sure everything was in order with my Air Force One braking system. Leveling jacks were cleaned and lubricated and they only needed a smidge of hydraulic fluid. Air Force One checked out just fine... I just wanted the reassurement it was good to go because I am always descending high mountain passes in the Rockies...

I'm staying here another week before heading back over the Continental Divide to spend more time with my Grandchildren. My youngest daughter had her first child, a girl, and the little firecracker was born on the 4th of July!!! My oldest daughter, who lives in West Hollywood was in Aspen, so she drove down with her little boy to meet her sister's new baby. It was an extremely enjoyable 4th of July hanging out with my children and my Grandkids...

Parked at The Fishing Hole at Heritage RV Park on the Spit in Homer, Alaska. The first fishermen arrived at 4 a.m., and before long it'll be full of dogs, people, and the usual fish-flinging chaos- but for now, it's peaceful.

Once again a short 1 week trip up to Travelers Rest for our anniversary. Had a tornado warning last night, then the rains came with 70 to 80mph straight line winds. Pulled the slides in and luckly the wind was at the front end. Lost power for a short time and a lot of trees lost limbs. No damage to the coach and as a plus, the coach is really clean now. (pic is before the storm)

Just got set up at Talking Rock Motorcoach RV Resort in Talking Rock, GA.. They just opened in October of 2024 and this place is great.. I’ve never camped with such shameless confidence. I’m deploying slide-outs like a man with nothing to lose and I’ve extended the awning three times just for the thrill of watching it retract, completely unconcerned.

Yes, I’m camping in Newmar’s parking lot, and I fear absolutely nothing. I truly have the RV equivalent of diplomatic immunity.
