St. Vrain State Park Firestone, Colorado
I rolled out of Angel Fire, NM heading to St. Vrain State Park around 6:30 this morning as heavy morning thunderstorms were forecasted with potential flooding on US-64 between Eagle Nest and Raton, NM. My route from there unfortunately had me on I-25 so I pounded pavement on the Interstate from Raton to just North of Denver on the Front Range. I would much rather cruise around on twisty 2 lane Scenic Byways slogging over high mountain passes than deal with Interstate drivers. Interstate driving is boring...
and it is mentally fatiguing keeping track of all these freakin idiots in my mirrors...
People drive like they in a NASCAR race...
I was here in the Spring and now the state shows the park as being in Firestone not Frederick...
I will be here for a couple of weeks waiting on my youngest daughter to give birth to her first baby. This will be a busy year for new grandchildren... My oldest son and his wife had their second child in March, and my oldest daughter in West Hollywood, is due with her second child in September. It's raining babies...
