Newmar Kountry Klub Balloon Fiesta Albuquerque, New Mexico



This morning I drove back to Albuquerque to check in a couple of days early for the Balloon Fiesta. I've been attending this "epic" event that past few years as I doddle my way back to my Winter home in Arizona. The Balloon Fiesta is a bucket list item and I encourage other NKK members to attend one year. There are 30 Newmar coaches attending the first session this year and there are always a great bunch of people in attendance...

It would appear everyone is using the chimney style generator attachment. I have wondered about how effective they are.....this would appear to say they are quite good......

The Gen-Turi generator exhaust stack is very effective. Keeps the obnoxious exhaust fumes from blowing in your neighbor’s entry door. It’s the considerate thing to do when running the generator dry camping in close quarters. I had a neighbor last year at the Balloon Fiesta that didn’t have an exhaust stack and it sucked big time!!!

Yes, it was a deliberate under control landing. The only other option was to go just beyond where we are parked and land on the Indian Reservation. If a balloon lands on the reservation they need to be escorted off the reservation and that could take a significant amount of time. The balloon pilot radioed his chase vehicle and directed them to where he gracefully, under complete control, landed his balloon...
