OMG! That is big-time-tight!
Yeah. Sure glad we were in the shorter height New Aire. The construction for the new parallel tunnel estimated to be completed in 2023 added to the pucker factor too.

Catherine's Landing, Hot Springs, AR

Nice campground along a river/lake with lots of activities. Nice town nearby with everything you could want from dining to retail. Sites are nice, staff friendly, no complaints.

Cellular: AT&T good, Verizon no good
Starlink: Good except for deprioritized in evenings but still good enough for streaming YouTube TV
Campground Wi-Fi: good but not used
SAT: Just pick the right site if you are a SAT user, plenty of wide open sites
Cable: good
Dog parks: several in the campground, a really nice one we discovered today opposite side of the CG while on a long walk and then dog park time.

What a nice campground!

Back home till the Tampa show in January. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 month trip with the only issues replacing an AC unit in Indiana and of course our buddy Ian that ripped through our area. We were blessed with no real damage to our house other than 40' of fence, a few roof shingles, and one tree. Much less than some people we know who lost house and all contents to flood only a few miles from our location.

We have been at Tanglewood Campground in Clemmons NC since Monday. It is really a gem of a campground. At $38 a day you get full hookups, wireless (which is iffy) and cable. Also miles of paved paths, bike paths, pools (seasonally) etc. Only 44 sites, so it is perpetually full. We book a year in advance.

Chattanooga North KOA (McDonald, TN)

Cellular (AT&T and Verizon) both 5G and north of 100 down, AT&T 5G is over 200 down (both are prepaid plans)
SAT: Not used but could be a challenge
Starlink: Not needed, stowed, but trees could be an issue
Cable: Non HD - blech
OTA: Few, not used as I have YouTube TV
Wi-Fi: Done right! 5 Ghz is strong and speeds are typically 50/50 Mbits

Beautiful area. Staging for my next move into the monument of the Smoky Mountains Thursday.

Got the whole row to myself. Putting "recovering from Ebola and 98% non contagious" in reservation notes seems to work well.

All you are missing is snow on the ground.

We picked up our 2022 Dutch Star 4081 on Saturday morning at Tom Lindstrom RV in Moorpark Ca and drove her north to our home in Vacaville. 420 miles straight through and I could not be happier with the coach. What a dream to drive. My last time driving a MH was my 89 28' Fleetwood Flair 20 plus years ago. This was a completely different experience altogether. Looking forward to the weekend when the wife and I will be taking it on our first trip to Bodega Bay for a long weekend.

Which park at Bodega Bay? The one right at the marina is a nice location if you can get in on short notice, but this is probably still non- commercial crab season and its a busy place when thats going on. But there will be plenty of crab every night. The surrounding CGs look nice but I still havent made it to them so if you do please report your findings. And yes, pics are mandatory

Somewhere between frustrated and outraged.

Porto Bodega marina and RV park. Made reservations yesterday morning. We got a water side spot. Wife decided she did not want to experience dry camping for the first trip. In a few weeks we will go to Ocean Cove and Boondock for a night or two.

I will post from our first trip. I didn't take any pics on our ride home, it was a seven hour drive straight thru. Looking forward to a relaxing ride this weekend.

Waterside spot on short notice - nicely done. You’ll enjoy it. Walk up the one-lane road to the Birds Cafe and the grocery/deli across the street. Lots of good stuff there.

Wow! Love it! I’m a NH, ME, and VT leaf peeper when I get a chance and this rivals what Ive seen there.

Well shoot, missed opportunity. We were there 10/17 for an overnight stop on our way back home (N Dallas) I did take a short walk but we were on the older side (left as you enter) of the campground in a pull through. Those back in sites along the river are really nice in the summer. That water is seriously cold as it's coming out of the Lake Hamilton Dam just a short way up stream and the river sites are noticeably cooler on a Texas summer day. I sure would have looked you up If I saw that windshield cover.

Neal,

Were you at Santa Fe Skys RV park about a month ago? I saw a pic of your RV with the RVForums stone flap above and realized I saw a similar bus with the same flap on it in Santa Fe.

JGW RV park right on the Sacramento River in Anderson on I-5 just south of Redding. Big travel day - about 150 miles. But we planed to leave home at about 1pm and got pretty close to that after final prep, taking the horses down the road, picking up the dogs from the groomer (always like to start out with clean dogs) taking to my neighbor about his generator - all that important stuff.

Managed to get here before 5pm. After that you are considered a “late arrival” and your welcome packet will be on the bulletin board outside the office. The park is clean, well developed and managed, and in good shape. And we have friendly neighbors. It has a pool, and wifi and cable although I haven’t tried either. Cell service (Verizon) seems adequate. The river is nice, there is a boat ramp suitable for small fishing boats, and the park is along the lines of a good KOA. For us, it‘s just a one night stopover on the way to the Northern Ca Coast. Tomorrow we traverse 299 and start our coastal travels.

As far as parks with pull through sites and 50a service in this area and right on the Sacramento River go, this one seems to be among the best and its $58/night for transients like me. I would say they also have monthly, if not long term rates as well.
Pictures added….
