Has anyone had an RV dealer/repair shop perform the temporary fix on the Winnebago 12-30l-2024 recall for the hood brackets coming loose? WB still has no "permanent" fix, but told me that WB will pay for authorized repair centers to do a "temporary" fix. I took my Adventurer 30T to a dealer this week for a couple of other minor issues, and the service writer did not seem to know anything about the recall or the temporary fix. I'm wondering what it is. My driver side bracket came completely off on a recent trip - only the little rod kept it from falling out of the engine compartment onto the highway. The passenger side is about to come off. I had to use a bungee cord around the hood, hooked to the passenger side wiper shaft to hold the hood from dropping down and banging the whole way to the dealer.

On mine, the hinge is “bonded” to the fiberglass by means on glue and detached. I drilled two 1/4” holes through the bracket and into the fiberglass. Then bolted two carriage bolts through the bracket and backed up the fiberglass with fender washer. Of course I then stood back and said “ That ain’t going anywhere!”

I took mine to an area store of a national chain - what a mistake. They did not want to do it, until I finally retrieved my RV and did it myself. Winnebago tech advised using Plexus MA310 adhesive. I ordered a tube and plunger and it was easy to work with and is very strong. WB even reimbursed me for the cost. That was late September last year. WB also advised that a permanent fix was just about ready. More than three months later still waiting for it. If WB comes out with a permanent fix that involves drilling a hole through the hood, I may just stick with the temporary fix that seems to be holding up very well.

yes, likely temp or permanent "panel bond" fix, but I especially like @Jimbenet fix. Winnebago is good on warranty and recalls - once you choose a Tech or service center to fix they will reimburse you, even if that person or service center is not a Winnie dealer.
